Donations to The Darfur Project are made directly to The Bridge Foundation, Inc., the 501(c)3 organization that arranges and operates The Darfur Project airlifts.  The Bridge Foundation was founded in 2002 and has effectively provided emergency aid to Darfur, Chad, Afghanistan, Iraq, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Indonesia, Jamaica, Lebanon and many others. Bridge Foundation has also assisted domestically in response to Hurricane Katrina and other hurricanes in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana and Kentucky.

$50 buys 30 boxes of 12 Plaster of Paris that enables doctors to provide casting material to treat 360 people.

 

$50 buys 32 boxes of 100 syringes & needles or 3,200 syringes for administering life-saving drugs.

 

$100 buys 50 Mosquito nets to prevent Malaria for 50 people while sleeping

 

$100 buys one burn dressing kit that will treat 50 people for burns

 

$500 buys 78 bottles of 1000 Naproxen for pain relief or 78,000 tablets.

 

$500 buys 250 bottles of 1000 folic acid used to prevent a variety of birth defects in child bearing women (250,000 tablets for 8,333 women for one month)

$1000 buys 20 bottles of 1000 multivitamins (20,000 tablets or enough for 666 kids for one month)

 

$1000 buys 18 bottles of 1000 quinine Sulphate to treat Malaria (18,000 pills or enough to treat

3,000 people at 2 pills a day for three days each

$1500 buys 180 boxes of 100 ORT Sachets for a total of 18,094 sachets of ORT (Oral rehydration Therapy). Enough for 18,094 liters of ORS to treat dehydration for diarrhea
$1500 buys 1600 liters of Lactated Ringers—an essential IV solution used for fluid resuscitation after a blood loss due to trauma, surgery, or a burn injury.
